Project Overview
To further my rendering and digital model-making skills I challenged myself to create a series of visuals based on the architecture of the famous Pink City in Jaipur, India. Over reading week I wanted to improve my 3D Vectorworks skills and also learn more about rendering my work. Inspired by the iconic pink terracotta stained city believed to have been painted in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria. Since visiting India in 2017 I am continually inspired by its rich architectural beauty and this trio was loosely based after three landmarks in Jaipur.

Project Brief
I set myself the brief and challenge of creating a series of renders as like those that I had seen on Instagram but inspired by one of my favourite countries I have travelled to. The main objective was so that I felt more comfortable in using Vectorworks for 3D modelling and rendering.
Design Rationale
To be confident in using Vectorworks for both 2D CAD drawings and 3D modelling
To explore the architectural language of India
To achieve semi-realistic visuals and develop my skills in the rendering area
Design Response
My response to the project led me to create a set of four visuals which were each inspired by the architecture and history of the iconic pink city of Jaipur home to several famous landmarks including the UNESCO world heritage site of Jantar Mantar which Inspired part one of the series. Part two and three were inspired by the breathtaking Amber Fort located just outside of the city of Jaipur in Armer, Rajasthan. The final part of the series was inspired by a small structure on the Man Sagar Lake best known for the Jal Mahal or 'Water Palace'. Overall, I was really pleased with the outcomes and the style I was able to achieve.
